Legal Notice & Terms of Engagement for Accounting Sharp Project Services

1. Scope of Services & Professional Standards

Accounting Sharp Project Services ("the Firm," "we," "our") provides professional accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, advisory, and related financial services as detailed on our website (https://accountingsp.us). All services are performed in accordance with applicable professional standards and the laws of Canada and the Province of Quebec. Our engagement is limited to the specific tasks and periods for which you, the Client ("you," "your"), formally engage us. We do not provide legal or investment advice.

2. Client Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • Providing complete, accurate, and timely information, documentation, and disclosures necessary for the performance of our services.
  • Maintaining adequate records to substantiate all income, expenses, deductions, and credits claimed.
  • Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of all returns, reports, and financial statements we prepare before authorizing their submission to any third party (including government agencies).
  • Making all required payments to tax authorities and other entities by their respective deadlines.

3. Fees, Billing, & Payment

Fees are based on the complexity, scope, and time required for the services rendered, as outlined in a separate engagement letter or proposal. All fees are due upon receipt of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing. Unpaid accounts may be subject to interest charges and may result in a suspension of services. We reserve the right to retain your documents until all outstanding fees are paid in full.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any and all claims, losses, or damages arising from our services or this engagement, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the total fees paid by you for the specific service from which the claim arose. We shall not be liable for any consequential, indirect, incidental, or punitive damages.

5. Confidentiality

We hold all client information in strict confidence, in compliance with professional ethical requirements and applicable privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector. Information is used solely for the purpose of providing our services and will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent, except as required by law or as necessary to fulfill our engagement (e.g., transmitting returns to government agencies).

6. Electronic Communication & Security

We employ secure methods for electronic communication and document exchange (e.g., encrypted client portals, certified e-filing). However, you acknowledge that no electronic transmission is 100% secure. You accept the inherent risks of electronic communication and agree to our use of electronic means for deliverables and correspondence.


7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This engagement and any disputes arising from it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable therein. The parties irrevocably attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Quebec.

8. Acceptance of Terms

By engaging Accounting Sharp Project Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and any subsequent written engagement letter, which together constitute the entire agreement between us.
